I read the book Percy Jackson & The lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This story takes place in Long Island. This is a story about a boy named Percy Jackson who discovers his father Poseidon is one of the three main gods of the Olympus. Then he is is taken by his best friend grover who he also discovers is a satyr (half goat half human) to a camp called Camp Half-Blood that is where all sons of gods go. But when they were on their way a monster convert his mother into dust. Then the most powerful weapon the lightning bolt owned by Zeus is stolen and they are blaming him so he has to go on a mission to find it so war doesn't begin. He takes his friend from camp Annabeth and his best friend Grover. They go to the underworld to Hades god of dead to where they suspect the bolt is hidden. They face lots of monsters and traps on their way. When they get there they realize that the bolt was magically placed in his backpack they see Percy's mom but fail to bring her back. Then they see Ares god of war who confesses to have stolen the bolt. They give the bolt back to Zeus in the Olympus and they return back to Camp Half-Blood.
The story Seventh Grade by Gary Soto was a really difficult to like story. Even if I can relate to it because I am a seventh grader I think the story lacks action and the characters are not interesting
The story Seventh Grade lacked action. It lacked action because throughout the story you never see any action or anything that excites you. The most exciting part was when Victor pretended to speak french and he's teacher saved him so he could be with Teresa but for me I like books with was more action and this one just wasn't enough. I also think this story lacks action because they never say what happens with Victor and Teresa. The characters i this story are not interesting. I think the characters are not interesting because they are normal kids who do normal stuff and nothing strange or something different happens so I think the characters are really plain. It is also really boring for me because I am a seventh grader so I go to school to and so what they talk about in the story is not new to me so it doesn't teach me anything so I don't think that this story is relevant This is why I think that the story Seventh Grade by Gary Soto was really difficult to like and that even though I can relate I think the story lacks action and the character are not interesting. I read the book Allegiant by Veronica Roth this book takes place at a city named Chicago. This book is about a girl named Tris and her boyfriend Tobias. They lived in a city surrounded by a fence but they went out of it and found out that they were an experiment made after a war. the people that ran the experiments wanted to erase the memory of everyone in the city so Tris and Tobias decided that he would go to the city and save their families and she would stay and erase the people who ran the experiments memory. Tobias was successful but when Tris pushed the button to release the memory serum she got shot and died.
I think that this book is relevant because it shows yow that life can change in a second and you can go from having a happy life to being dead like it happened to Tris who led a normal life in abnegation but then died. I really like this book because I have been excited to read it scenic I read Divergent and Insurgent and because I think this book s the perfect balance of romance and action. I would recommend this book who people who love romance and action and also to people who really like to read because to understand this book you have to read the other two but I think that pretty much anyone would like this book. |
